Your first dollar should be spent on
input. Before you commit to spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on personnel,
hardware and software--we can interpret your needs and assist you in determining a
direction. Do not expect a Webmaster to perform this "objective analysis"
for you. Your new Systems Administrator will exhibit his or her bias and their judgements
will be based on their narrow frame of reference in turn based largely on their
server-side experience. As they are likely to determine future needs for you and
"spend" the bulk of your budget, it is best to recruit your staff based on the
direction you wish to take, rather than be bound to the direction your new staff
determines for you.

THE TEAM APPROACH
The IMAGE LINK team will design your Intranet as a system, not a series of individually
engineered, patched together components. As you will
learn to appreciate, it is a seamless interface that allows the network to run most
efficiently. The fewer "competing" architects involved in the design, the
greater the chance the system will function as a "system".
It is necessary to institute a team approach to
integrate the above characteristics into an efficient design because (as you will see in
the section that follows) the system is made up of functions requiring the skill of
individuals from diverse backgrounds. Our "team leader" is proficient in
setting up and maintaining public Internet servers with hundreds of customer and dozens of
WebSites. Our design team has a record of designing WebSites for diverse businesses.
- A secure Internet server is the core of your
network. For all practical purposes you will be an ISP (Internet Service Provider). From
the beginning, your Intranet may see less traffic and have a lesser load placed on it than
a commercial site, but you be prepare for your system to sustain an extreme load. This is
not a great undertaking for an ISP but well beyond the capability of many Intranet
applications.
- IMAGE LINK is free from "brand bias". No
single manufacturer has yet developed the "perfect" product line for a
comprehensive Intranet solution. Though we encourage manufacturer input, we are wary of
the limits it places on your freedom. Manufacturer’s consultants prevent you from
exploring multiple choices between browser, server or data interface and various hardware
and software combinations. IMAGE LINK provides you experts in diverse fields without bias.
- Finally, we offer "tutorial
implementation" and full support. Your staff will be taught how to maintain and
upgrade your site, as you will be at our side during installation and testing. Out team
will provide on demand, 24 hour, 7 day a week on site support.
